For looks maybe its all personal preference me and Wiltshire agree to disagree I like tall skinny tyres he likes the yank wide look.

Personally I do not agree the benefit of wider tyres justifys the bad points of a wider tyre such as turning circle and sticking out past your arches both needed to be addressed for comps I take part in. for others they are great so ill keep my skinny tall ones and Heaney many others will enjoy the ones he likes.

Agree with Jai .. I have (quite small really) 31 x 10.5 AT's on .. I would like 33/35's but I would still ideally want 10.5 max .. seems to be a good compromise on 'looking wide' without being too wide to compromise steering and narrow enough to cut through ****e to harder ground.

I also like higher sidewalls, hence why I still have 15" rims, I think they give a bit more give when it's most needed.

Ideal metric size (If anyone does it) for me would probably be 265 x 85 R15 ... for a 33" equivalent tyre ..

Insas if you can't afford the above ..

I've had all 3 sets and I'm back on the insa's as they are a better tyre

Feds to big and side walls to hard
Simex **** on rock and didn't fit my wheels
Insa's just work well all round even on road

Ask all the guys on sunday who had skinny tyres on how far they got on the plains and then ask them how far i got The pics on the salisbury plain fred speak for themselves

The myth that skinny tyres dig down and get grip is just a myth.. Ive had 235/85... 265/75.., 33/12.50...,36/12.50....35/10.50 and 35/12.50 and 35/11.50 the current baja claws have been my favourite all round tyre

Mate thats the biggest myth ever invented prob by someone who had skinny tyres

Your tyres skinny or wide will only dig down as far as your diff will allow and if this so called harder magical gnd is lower than that your fcuked

Horses for courses used to do well with my 750 xcls pretty much bald at Brickhill because everyone for a short time had a spate of wide bronco 265 285 305 type tyres with only 75 or 65 % profile when they were new out as they were very cheap back then lots of them dug holes and even being bald and a lower ground clearance of a Salisbury I still drove through their holes they had dug and got a class win and 3rd overall.

I did rate bronco 235 85 grizzly claws and still do to this day an amazing Offroad tyre not so good at speed due to delaminating when hot.

ive had those grizzly claws and in my opinion the where the worst tyre ive ever had half the treads flew off and i mean all the way down to the cords lol

They were the wide ones and not great the 235s 85 16 had more open tread the blocks were spaced apart more.

Diamonds or highlanders self clean very well blip the throttle in 3rd low and they clean as they dig!!
