Shifted Camshaft bearing

Hi Gents,

Please look at these pictures and tell me your advice.

I discovered that when doing a HG on my friend's 5.0 supercharged V8.

yes looks like it ,check blocks straight when you fit new

Ok so i'm good to take the block out to remove the camshaft and replace bearings?

yes ,if blocks moved cam wont fit well

Don't new bearings have to be in-line reamed?

Some are line bored and I can't remember as we used to strip and send engines to machine shop for bottom ends generally

Not been reading owt, but I know that in my yoof, camshaft bearings always used to.

old lr manuals show reaming ,but they then started using sized bearings so no reaming necessary

Is there any way to repair that with the engine still in car?

as long as you can get cam out and use a bar with suitable dolly to hold and tap bearing in with oil hole aligned you can do it in situ

thats is a cam bearing tool ,ive used those types plus made ones out of nylon
