Hi all

I'm part of the production team at Attaboy TV working on a brand new motoring programme for National Geographic. The programme pits two teams of mechanics against each other to take apart a car that is beyond repair, sell the parts and see who can make the most money.

As part of the new series we're featuring a Land Rover Defender 90.

For the beginning of the episode we’re looking to film a 'pristine version' of a Defender 90. This will act as stock footage to set up the story for the rest of the programme.

As such we need a Defender 90 to film with that is in good condition (possibly having undergone a resto). We’re looking to film at a location in Surrey on Friday 13th April.

If you have such a vehicle and want to have it featured on TV please email me: [email protected]. Preferably if you could send some pics of your car it would be appreciated. We would require you and your car for the one day and would cover travel expenses and provide
a DVD of the finished programme after it has aired.

We look forward to hearing from you.

If you read it properly you'll see that the request is for a pristine 'before' example - not the one to break and sell.

Soooo they lookin at showin it as their own work.... or possibly showin the defender before they take it apart.....they will obviously show a different one at the "after" shot... hence it aint the same defender thats been taken apart and rebuilt.

ETA...re-read the post.... they aint rebuildin it but still they are gonna show a defender that they will not be takin apart.

Seems to me there are too many that are already aware of the amount of money you can make taking a pristine defender apart :5brant:

Too true, as recently seen at a 'sort out' - too many parts with the angle grinder scars of a loving dismantler!!

I read it as another less worthy defender will be dismantled. They want a kick ass restoration to show one as an example of how good one can be.

Thats how i read it too.

"preferably a rebuild" So they can show what it could look like when they do theres.

I do a bit of TV work for my job and if i had a nice restored landy i would get in touch because they pay good money for props(or they should) and they will cover all your expenses. Fuel, Food, Accommodation and rent of your vehicle.

Surely a more interesting show would be restoring one? Everyone knows taking one apart makes more money but the art is making one good again and even showing the history of that model.

I think what they actually want to do is have a look at your Defender, then when your distracted they will steal it and take it apart to sell.

Or perhaps to get lots of addresses of folk with Defenders so they can call round and steal them.

Call me sceptical!!

This sounds like a great idea lets take a Landy show the nation how to strip it and then make a mint selling all the untraceable bit's Genius.
It's not like they don't get stolen enough without adding a price tag.

I agree with this one....

.... lets show the nation how to strip it and then make a mint selling all the untraceable bit's - Genius.

And also those who said nothing is beyond repair..... ask Mr Hobson how to make several £million from the British Army...

Hobson Industries : Asset managed parts: saving energy and natural resources.

'Asset managed' AKA recycled at Hobsons...

If they wants a pristine fender to take pics of for the day, then why don't they go hire one for a day or contact a landy dealer to take pics of one on a forecourt? Me smells some bull**** from the op
