right I don't have a press, but I need to replace me Panhard rod bushes.

Not got poly bushes, I bout a pair of Britpart standard ones.

since I've not got a massive press to hand I thought of doing the following:

  1. remove the panhard rod, take a drill with a small bit and drill out the rubber between the 2 rings on the bush
  2. take a hacksaw blade/stanley blade a remove the rubber holding the inner ring
  3. use a hacksaw blade as like a copping saw, pass it through the hole and cut into the outer ring in 2 places, thus freeing the outer ring of the bush
  4. taking the new bush and using a bottle jack and a suitable drift, jack up the new bush into the rod against the chassis of me motor.
  5. repeat for other side.
can anyone see a flaw in this plan? if so any advice?

cheers

ive pushed them in by chamfering leading edge, smear with oil, and using a t-bar sash clamp pushed them in, not to difficult

Looks like a good plan.
But when you press out the old ones, put them in the bin with the ****part ones & buy some better ones.:D
