Looks like I need a new rad.

Can anyone recommend an after market make or supplier? There seem to be a few about, as well as a plastic:eek::confused: one from Sh*tpart (ok, alloy and plastic!??)

p.s. Oi Buster ya lazy barsteward why have'nt you done a photo tour of a P gasket replacement? Ok, ok, look I'll take the pictures for you if you like! I'll even lend you a landy to do it on! I'm that generous and good sprited a person:rolleyes:

Ive got a holey rad too on mine. Iv seen prices new from £100-£130 for an aftermarket one. Dont know if they were britpart or another make. I think paddocks was the best price i found online. There were a few second hand ones on ebay last week of various quality.

Ive lumped some rad weld in mine for now as the front dumb irons need welding before next MOT. Im hoping it will hold together for now and i can take the front end off and do all the work together.

ive used alot of britpart replacement ones btp2275 and upto a couple of months ago when i fitted last one theve been allright for 300tdi

Thanks for that. Just the thought of it makes me nervous though. Irational or not, I rather not put a britpart rad in.

Bearmach for £120:

yes i know wat you mean as obvusly genuine or branded parts from britpart are as good as any ,but none marked or pattern parts can be a worry i had to rebuild and refit 2 x gearboxes after fitting 1 brg that wasnt oe (timken) in each box they sent it instead of the other as it was on back order lasted 2 weeks, upon stripping bearing was absolutely shot all the others (oe) pristine ,rang and complained really to let them know for others sake but no one was really interested ,even though i allways order proper parts for such jobs i do allways check its written on brg,but some pattern stuff they do is allright ive come to know with trial and error like there brake discs ive found very good even on my own after 3 years most good part suppliers should like i do inform people if it really would be better with this that make because they must know as i do what is or not from complaints and actual experience

Well, have een searching the net all morning, the links I've posted so far are the only ones I can find where the seller is indicating who made it!!

Look for radiator services in your local yellow pages - if the top and bottom bits of the rad are OK you should be able to get it recored - at least you know what you're getting.
