Hi All,

On normal roads, splash through puddles in my Defender 110 200 TDI while trying to turn and steering goes really heavy as if I don't have power steering? Any ideas.

Many thanks

Jonah (always smiling when in my Deafener!!)

Its a tear in the time space continueum that physics has difficulty explaining...like falling into a black hole and time stands still.

Or it could be your belt slipping cos its wet.

What the F***!

How do I repair the tear?!!!!!! Needle and cotton?

Would a new belt solve or is there the facility to tighten belt??

I used to get this before changing the ps belt - Old one was contaminated with oil. In the dry it was fine. As soon as I hit a deep puddle it got wet and slipped causing the steering to be heavy. Since replacing the belt it seems fine when hitting deep puddles. Hope this helps.

Hi All,

It's just got worse!

Picked the Littlens up from school and steering so heavy takes me all my power to turn wheel, even when moving. Checked reservoir and lost some fluid? The reservoir had fluid on it last week and i thought cap seal had gone so put new washer on it?

HELP!

Many thanks

Jonah (it's not a problem, just another opportunity to understand a little more about how my Landy works!!!)

Oups, washer will be removed, did read somewhere that sometimes reservoir washer perishes!!! Damn this mis-information.

Pulley seems fine all spinning nicely and tight?

Did have fluid leak which I thought came out of top of reservoir and thought i'dover filled???
