My P38 Winch is now fitted.....! Drool....! lol

well here you go. 12000lbs winch fitted with the factory winch tray bull bars light guards and fog lamps!

here is what it looked like when i got it!

im sure some people will say it looks better as original but each to there own.

you should see the chewing gum holding the plate to the chassis!! thats even stronger, Wrigleys said it would easily do 20,000lbs!! lol

That is a nice job and a rare sight in this part of the world, just don't go rear ending some inoffensive little hatch back.

yeah it was 2am when i finished doing it and only had white cable ties, so will change that this week.

it would look good having a nissan micra as a "winch ornament".....!

no not essential, but the tray defo is contoured to the bullbar im sure it can be fitted without it. put it this way. the winch plate has no bolts that connect it to
bullbar

I only use the winch at the Range when i

stuck in mud, or 15 min before! lol

I've seen a lot of guys put the box for the controls in the engine bay. Then it will be more protected and nobody will see the white cable ties. Only problem is, then you will have to open the bonnet every time you want to use the winch.

Which is a very good safety feature. Coz if the cable breaks, the bonnet will stop it flying back thru the windscreen and killing yu or a passenger.

I really, really like that - takes the P38 from a 'soft' looking real offroader to a proper, go-anywhere looking vehicle! Obviously has cost a fair bit of time and effort to do, so what you gonna use it for? And don't say winching!!

when we put winch on my mates p38 we hid it all behind bumper an all u could see was fairlead that looked pretty smart
