Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Is it worth reporting the state of this to the ROW officer and getting it TRO'd or at least a width restriction?

Maybe a request for treework?

Did we have Hi lifts we had 2 on the go one winching backwards when swapping winch landys and the other jacking up and hoofing over to get the wheel out of the ruts I think we have all earned our hilift king badges last night
 
In all honesty I was well un prepared but we did all we can my winch main feed wasn't wired up when we got there and but we sorted it and I would like to say a big ta for everyone that got involved I think everyone put in a good effort I was like many othere in the belief that its a ****a **** just right it and drag it out well that simply wasn't the case. ClassicKev I think will be having nightmares of highlift jacks for ever but hey no one hurt, no motors damaged the lane was not damaged at all and even th epolice man was happy enough at the end of the lane which was nice.

Pretty much sums it up!

For those who have been commenting from the side lines - you weren't there so wind yer neck in.

At face value actually not that bad a situation but then factor in no daylight, very slippery clay top surface, no room to easily get around stricken landy and you might be able to get some idea of what we were looking at.

Anyway the short version is that me, Spyderman, jai and Ryder got out there at about 8:00pm, after a bit of head scratching we formulated the plan of attack which was going well until we had to get Beaker in his 110 out of the lane backwards. Because of his roof rack he was too tall to keep it tight to the right hand side and slipped popping two wheels over the edge. That 110 was a stubborn beastie but we got it out.

The Disco that caused this little drama actually came out quite quickly once we had jacked and pulled it on to the lane, i thought we were going to get it stuck again but luckily not, it nearly slipped over the edge as we were bringing it back but Spyderman gave it a little shove sideways and all was well. Disco out at 02:41.

By the time we collected all our gear and had sort out it was well after 3:00 before we got going. I dropped Spyderman off at his at 04:20 and got in myself at 04:30.

Had 3 and a bit hours sleep and am now feeling everyone of the hours spent in the mud. Sorry no pics, we were full on busy all night.

Was falling asleep and was not looking forward to the drive through the lanes home with defender lights. Glad you got them out!! At last.
 
I spent a fair time looking at the photos...when you first look it seems flat..but when you compare them from different angles and see how folks are standing it really does become clear how much of an angle it was on, and the drop to the stream..and that feckin runny poo mud...eek! Got the weekend to compare hero storys and have a giggle over a beer now though!

I should say so. It was a 100 mile round trip for me last night/this morning. Couldn't believe the weather on the way back though, the wind was strong pushing the Rangie around all over the place, mind you I was pushing on.
 
Well done for the recover and even more well done for the perseverance of the recovery team for "leaving no man behind" !!!

I still maintain there will be MANY people all waiting and wanting to hit this lane ASAP. And I lay money there will be pictures.

You're not wrong there, it was very difficult just to stand up let alone anything else. As for hero stories, this may well be one that will surface from time to time - the Ryder Cup has a new holder, the record has gone, smashed by a noob anorl!!!!!!

What time are we serving flame grilled stuckee nooby? Well, it has to done really (LOL).
