I got a stainless steel one off eBay ,£6 fitted it in five mins. Easiest job I have ever done on a Land Rover.

I would go to the manufacture, then you know that the powder coating is good, if you buy off fleebay you don't really know the condition. Mine still look good after 7 years but the powder coating is starting to lift. Good hunting Steve.

I use Wye Valley Land Rover Ross on Wye. There is also Gray Hills Land Rover I think they are in a farm yard off the Ledbury Road at Apperley. Tim Fry Land Rover on the A46, south of Stroud. I hope that helps Steve.

Hi I had a similar problem, my 90 would run for about 5 mins then cut out, and restart after 15 mins. I had changed the lift pump and connected the fuel feed and outlets the wrong way around, it's worth checking again as its a simple fix.

I drive an 1986 n\a 2.5 Diesel, on a recent trip from Ross on Wye to Stourport and back at a steady 55 mph, I got 30 mpg, the same sort of figures last weekend when I went to Chipping Camden, a bit slow up fish hill had to find some low gears.

While I am towing my trailer all the lights work correctly, except the light on the dash that should flash when the indicators are on. Has any body got a wiring diagram for 1986 defender 90. They could e-mail me rather than the crap that is in the Haines manual.

I have a 1986 NA 2.5,so I am thinking the best type of oil would be 20-50 grade as its an old engine with no turbo.

I am just replacing my rear door, which had a spare wheel carrier fitted, it cracked every one of the braces it was mounted to, if I where you I would save up for a swing away bracket.

A lockable fuel cap is £50.0 -55.00' I have the same type the cheap ones on eBay are to small, when I was looking I phoned the eBay shop and they gave me a part number NRC 9572 just checked that's the none locking type, like you have currently. Hope that helps a little Steve.

I have a 1986 Defender, with a 2.5 ltr n/a, the problem is the lift pump is leaking oil through the vent hole on the underside. The pump is an AC Type H. Should I just but a self tapping screw in the breather hole. Fit a new lift pump, I did buy a STC 1190 pump, but it dose not fit...

Wrong pump, so I refitted the old pump which was leaking oil, but also used some loctite gasget goo on both sides of the gasget paper, it started first time, but I could not got for a test run, watch this space to see if it worked.

The engine is a 2.5 NA, current pump is leaking oil from the underside.

My new Allmarks lift pump has two vertical connections, the instructions which I have read, do not say which is inlet and which is the feed to the filter.s
