    i love my series ok they are no disco but my old series can run rings around my disco offroad given the right driver you will be amazed, but for your requirements stick with the disco, it has good brakes good economy and a heater that works and springs that move and seats that arnt like thin...

    filling up

    just replace sender unit or and count the litres if the gauge says half and you can only get 20odd litres in means its closer to 3/4 if quarter on the gauge and near 50 litres to fill to gurgle then its closer to half a tank in the vehicle then your sender unit is playing games

    short of stripping interior and carpets and jetwashing them you could always accept that every land rover has its own special smell

    Fuel for 80p a litre

    i use Ukraine diesel less than 70p a litre and it runs lovley smokes a little on start up but cheap diesel

    What MPG do you get?

    my 300tdi disco on a run at 50 55mph and not mountainous gets 34 -35 mpg around home where i enjoy the mountain roads and the near straight through exhaust and pump tweaks i get around 20- 28 depending on how im being with the loud pedal and what roads im on and in the forest i get about 15...

    once again good luck poppy and with a bit of luck this will be all sorted soon but I wont ever be insuring with flux again they messed me about with my 2a when I rolled it and said I want the insurance paused and created more headaches than solutions

    to the gaylander section but its horrible being landyless have not that feeling I think ever but I get withdrawal symptoms when my disco or one of the series (that runs and works) is in the workshop to be repaired
