    New boy...sort of!

hi again folks. It's been a while. I sold my Defender 90 three years ago and haven't been on here since. My wife has been complaining that I keep getting her Disco 3 all dirty so I am picking up a 2009 Defender 110 utility on Saturday so will be taking a more active interest soon! The 110 is in...

    EMS Fault Light!

Had the Disco MOTd and serviced Wednesday, took it on a 250 mile motorway journey Friday and yesterday the bloody EMS Fault light lit up and won't clear. The handbook states; "Avoid high speeds and consult your authorised dealer as soon as possible" I've tried searching threads here and not...

    Latest recall

Just had a letter through the door from Hadley Green suggesting my Disco may need a service recall. Anyone got any ideas what this may be for? They are after my VRN & Chassis number to check whether I need the recall.

Knackered locking wheel socket - First use!

Well I collected my new set of locking wheel nuts (Britpart RTC9535) and they're not cheap! I thought it would be worth it though even though I only have steel modulars on my Defender. I checked the torque setting in the W/S Manual and put the new nuts on. Just as I finished the last one and as...

    Spare wheels getting stolen again

There has been a spate of Disco 3s having the spare wheels stolen around the south east again. Even dealers have been targeted (Chipperfields in Kings Langley the latest). Anyone got any ideas of simple ways to secure disco spare wheels? The dealer in Luton (Gone now and good riddance!) had so...

Woo hoo! My new spare tyre arrived!

Just picked up a new spare tyre. An Insa Turbo Dakar Mud (235/70/R16) from Paddocks. Ordered Monday, delivered Tuesday all for £73 all in including VAT and delivery. Just waiting for Bill at Autoland to get me a steel modular to put it on. I've been driving around without a spare for too long:(

    Insa Turbo Dakar Mud 235/70/R16

Wanted - A single 235/70/R16 Insa Turbo Dakar Mud tyre to put on my spare wheel. Doesn't have to be new but must be road legal please. ;)

Woo hoo! My Wading Kits arrived!

Well, the snorkel went on earlier this week and the wading kit will follow soon. As before I will post loads of pictures as I go through the fitment process. I will try to do this in daylight this time as the sealant around my snorkel looks as though it was put on with a catapault:eek:. I also...

    Woo hoo! My snorkels' arrived

My Mantec snorkel arrived yesterday so will be fitted soon. The wading kit is in the post as well. Last time I fitted stuff to my Defender people requested photos. Anyone interested in a snorkel and wading kit fitting?:)

    Steel modular wheel offset.

Before I get the usual "ffs" post I have done some research but not found an answer. After selling my boost alloys (For £500 :D) I am left with only four steel modular wheels so need a spare. My Defender Td5 90 has 235/70/R16 insa turbo dakar muds so I need something similar as a spare. I looked...

    Free to a good home!

I don't believe that at 10:30 today I offered to give away a pair of Defender 90 sills and no one has responded. I offered them via my thread on Rock/Tree sliders as now I have sliders I no longer need sills and they are in good order. I could eBay them but would feel happy to give them to...

    Rock/Tree sliders

Woo hoo! :) Just had my rock and tree sliders delivered from Richmond shot Blasting! They look really good (apart from a couple of scuffs that have revealed bare steel but I will sort that before fitting. The scuffs would be hidden when fitted but I need to keep corrosion at bay!) and...

    Swapping wheels/tyres

Hi. My Defender 90 came with Boost Alloys and A/T Tyres. They are pretty good (See picture) but I have fitted modular steels and Insa Turbo Dakar Mud tyres. Is it really worth having an extra set of wheels/tyres? I have been to Manchester, Castle Donnington and Birmingham (From London) with the...

    2002 Defender Td5 Bonnet adjustment?

Hi folks. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the bonnet latch on a 2002 defender TD5? Mine stands a bit proud when closed. I will have a look at the weekend but I go to work in the dark, and return in the dark so don't get much opportunity during the week. I have had a look in the...

Instrument panel and centre swith panel mounts

Good afternoon folks. The volume on my Defender horn was very weak and I could hardly hear it. I have left the original in place and wired to the column stalk switch but wired in another really loud horn with it's own switch. To do this I have put the new horn behind the offside headlight just...

    Had it a month now!

Well Iv'e had my defender a month now so added some mods. First; Some Insa Dakar Muds on steels (Thanks Speedynick - eBay). Then; Britpart fold-up rear seats (Inside out 4x4 - eBay). Then; Rubber matting in the back (Toeragstruckmats - eBay) and finally this week; A new door lock switch (MPS...

    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

Hi all and merry Boxing Day. I have just swapped the Boost alloys on my Td5 for some modular steels and Insa Turbo Dakar tyres. I'm not going to get bogged down by tyre pressures (30 front, 35 rear for me) or torque figures (140Nm does me) but I do have another question. When I took the front...

    Adding seats to a 90

Can anyone advise me on the legalities of fitting seats to my 90. There are many seats available out there but the legalities are a mystery to me. My 90 (County) is registered as a 'Light Goods Vehicle' and currently has no seats in the back. I need to fit a couple of fold-up seats to carry...

    New boy (Sort of)

It's taken over 30 years of Landrover driving to join a group/club/forum but here I am. I first drove a LR in the middle east in '76 and have owned them for many years. I also drove Landrovers off road (jungle, desert and snow) during a military period so I have done a few miles in some fairly...
