Good afternoon folks.
The volume on my Defender horn was very weak and I could hardly hear it. I have left the original in place and wired to the column stalk switch but wired in another really loud horn with it's own switch.

To do this I have put the new horn behind the offside headlight just behind the louvred holes that match the ones on the nearside for the OEM horn fit.

I wired it through the lighting loom, put the relay in the space behind the instruments and the switch in a spare switch slot in the centre switch panel. This meant the removal of these panels and I was cheesed off to find that some muppet has had these out in the past and broken many of the quite delicate fastening lugs/brackets. It looks like the panels have been removed without using a workshop manual and brute force was used instead of finding the hidden clip-nuts, lugs etc.

At least I now know why my indicators were'nt cancelling properly (Loose column clamp), my radio rattles loose, my aux socket comes out and the centre switch panel moves about!

Does anyone know of a 02 Defender being broken for spares? I will check locally (Autoland in Houghton Regis) for parts but would expect L/R parts to be quite expensive. I've fitted Insa Turbo Dakar mud tyres as well so anything loose will soon rattle off!

At least I have a f**k-off loud horn now :D
