Well I collected my new set of locking wheel nuts (Britpart RTC9535) and they're not cheap! I thought it would be worth it though even though I only have steel modulars on my Defender.
I checked the torque setting in the W/S Manual and put the new nuts on. Just as I finished the last one and as I took the socket off one of the spigots fell out!
The fitting hole has gone oval and there's f**king rust in it! How ****e is that. I dare say it will get exchanged fairly swiftly but the replacement will be just as ****e!
If they can't survive me and a torque wrench how the f**k will they survive Kwik Fit and their on-off guns?
While paying for the nuts I was talking to Bill in Autoland and it appears that Disco 3s are having a spate of their spare wheels and CATs stolen in the south east.

They don't call them Sh*tpart for nothing. There are only some things i will buy that are none genuine items as the quaility is some times poor.

You can see in the picture that another one of the pin things isnt welded in properly either.

**** by name **** by nature. Sorry station house but i wont even put the britpart OEM parts near my motor if i can help it. Bad experiences and bad reputation.

Undersdtand that BGB and to be honest I don't order from them at all!

Just aware that they are a supplier of loads of makes, not just their own ****e - that said can be hard to tell what is whose when ordering so giving a wide berth is probably the safest bet:rolleyes:

I didn't know a britpart was on it's way until it got here. I just ordered from a trusted source who happened to use britpart.

I'll know next time.

Oh! And BGB you are right. the other 'solo' peg has been pulled off centre and from the side looks like it's got a 'semi' on! The pair of pegs are also leaning. I guess that 'monkey metal' can't deliver 149 N/M

The plus side is that they are a doddle to remove without the locking key.:D

Oh Ratty!
I dont need to hear that. They are only steel modulars with Insa turbo dakar M/Ts but I like them. What should I do to keep them.
I ****in hate pikeys!

I ****in hate pikeys!

My job often entails getting past lost or broken security devices.

The good news is the pikeys have to make lots of noise with a hammer to remove em. The bad news is it still doesn't stop em being easy to take off.:(:D

A half-starved German Shepherd used to guard my gaff but she went to the great scrapyard in the sky last christmas.
Think I will get another one!
