    Top Defender mods?

Not so keen on that one. If they're bright enough to look in the driver's side window then they'll be disabused of that idea very quickly :o On the other hand, it might be useful to have a source of heat to help get the ice off the insides of the windows, the dash, the seats, the driver...

I'll go for that. No hesitation. Can you get it in a chequerplate style?

    Top Defender mods?

Hmmm. If we had one of them, would we have bought a Landy in the first place?

    Top Defender mods?

So what do we reckon are the most important or most useful mods for a Defender? And, of course, why? :) (Just a bit of fun... maybe. My 90 is pretty well stock at the moment; it arrived 100% unmodified and all I've done is put rubber mats in and tart up the gearstick gaiters that were...

How to start an engine in winter

You want to connect yourself into the spark plugs, you do. That'll warm you up good and proper

    Maxx Raxx cycle carriers?

We have a Maxxraxx to carry all four bikes in the home. Simply excellent bit of kit, solidly put together. Quick summary is here, since then Little Missy has grown and has a new bike which goes on the rack. The rack fits our adjustable-height towbar, which is slightly modded...

"DIN Plate style Hitch" - Standard on a Defender?

The local residents are talking about clubbing together and buying a snow plough for the road - this one. As the local Land Rover owner, it would fall to me to drive it! Looking at the website, it says it connects to a "DIN Plate style Hitch" which is apparently "Standard on most Trucks...

    Defender 90 or 110?

Just to confirm the various comments that the inward-facing seats in the rear of a 90 are for short distances or children only. Any other use is going to provoke a lot of very loud complaints. Also, that area is the only storage area, so you can't take 6 people and some stuff as well. That...

Fuel Lift Pump only Working Intermittently...

...is the comment added at the end of my service sheet from yesterday, under the heading "The following will require attention". I've only just noticed it, else I would have asked about it at the time. Anyone know whether this is serious?

    Defender 90 or 110 questions

This is exactly what I did last December. I ended up with a 2002 Defender 90, which arrived just in time for the January snow. I've not had any problems with height restrictions. Generally, I find I am just ok to go in multi-storey carparks and the like. My advice? Do it!

    mechanic please high wycombe area

I asked that question here a few weeks ago, and the two suggestions I was given were Goodyer 4x4 and Hughenden Autos. Haven't used either yet myself, but mine is booked into Goodyer in a few weeks for its service & MOT.

Garage Legal Woes & a sick Freelander.

You were given a quote. Your agreement was to carry out the work for that price. It doesn't matter how fair the £1200 price was for the work done. The contract was to change the gasket, skim the head and fit a new cam belt & water pump for "about £600". £1200 is not "about £600" by any...

    Anyone good at Maths ???

1 in 10,000, as others have said. Of course, there are 40 million or so adults in the UK. So it will probably happen to 4,000 of them.

    Hello!

Absolutely - a neighbour of mine took a call from a colleague to say he wasn't bothering to come because of the snow, and that he assumed it was ok because my neighbour always made it whatever the weather. Neighbour promptly sold his Discovery and bought a Jag. As for me, well I'm self...

Can anyone recommend a specialist near High Wycombe?

Hi, I bought my Defender last January from a specialist in Oxfordshire, but it's a bit of a trek to get up there for the service & MOT that it now needs. Can anyone recommend a decent independent specialist nearer High Wycombe? TIA!

    Hello!

Hi! Thought I'd post here to introduce myself before I go and ask for help. My Landie is a 2002 Defender 90, bought in a temper last winter after my otherwise lovely German rear-wheel-drive saloon became comprehensively stuck in heavy snow. Sine then, she's become a much-loved member of...
