    6.3 chevy-engined monster

Might be worth the £45 to upgrade the diff pins in the transfer box with the ashcroft one piece item. The standard diff pins don't look man enough to handle 3.9 power/torque levels let alone what your's will be putting out. Come on don't tell me your not going to be kicking down a gear and...

    6.3 chevy-engined monster

Ohhh but if you went manual r380 box ashcroft sell a rather nice straight cut gear set from quaife! Be interesting to see how ashcrofts uprated torque converter and clutch packs cope with it. Too nice too offroad, just use it to annoy fast road cars!

    6.3 chevy-engined monster

Will that thing need a wheelie bar on the back when all done!!?? Is that a standard rover v8 serpentine front end bolting straight to the front of the chevy? Mates got a 5.7 in his garage and a poorly 3.5 disco! Did Ashcroft not recommend fitting their stronger half shaft and cv joints. P.s...

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Mine has the earths to the back of the left cylinder head too, cleaned them up and re fitted and moved the earth for the dizzy to where the engine earth strap bolts onto the coil bracket on the front panel and it all seems fine for now. From what i know the ecu has an earth to it ( yes not...

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

I was also thunking it could be an earthing problem. The efi harness earths to the back of the heads originally doesn't it? Looking at it tomorrow so i'll report bac

    Discovery 200tdi Flange convertion help

I'd just like to say FLLAAAAAANNNGE. That is all

Oops - took my v8 RRC swimming !!!

The Ecu's are quite well sealed but maybe not submergable, they have a rubber gasket between the two halves. If your dizzy cap wasn't sealed on with silicone then a bit of damp/condensation in there is always a killer.

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

I can get the spares but i don't want to go buying things i don't need. Really poor spark on one bank only and fine on the other! That's just odd. Nothing in the ignition system even knows which bank is which! The Dizzy cap is the type held on with two screws not clips so i can remove and...

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Update!!! So it's not the ecu it seems to be running horribly rich on the left bank ( 2,4,6,8 ) because....there is hardly any spark at the plugs! Theres enough to light up ht lead testers but not enough to make a timing light strobe! Any ideas what could cause one bank to have a very weak...

    V8 Loom

I though we were talking about ALL the wires...im not playing anymore!
  12. D

    V8 Loom

The mysterious other 2 wires we we will never know!! You have to have the neg from the coil or it won't inject so thats 2 wire...maf the other?
  13. D

    V8 Loom

The hotwire loom is standalone. the little white plug is the testbook connector, will also have the resistor for speed signal in the bunch of wire by the coil not by the maf connection

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Well that might be the plan then! A friends has a complete efi loom and spare ecu to rule that out too

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Would TVR Engine Chimaera Engine Griffith Engine V8 Engine | eBay that bolt into existing land rover engine mounts? i'm guessing all my serp front end bits would just bolt onto it along with my flywheel and clutch?

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

I guess its time to take a head off then i guess?! But before that i'll check that the injectors are all firing by removing them and the rail. No point it rebuild/replacing the engine if the fueling caused the failure

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Seems like a very sudden recent fail ( working thursday fine then started up with this problem on thursday) saying that every now and then it would seem a little down on power so maybe it was running lean on the right bank and that's caused burnt out valves or something to cause the low...

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Still the issue of hardly any compression on the one side. Are the injectors just held in place by the rail? If so i'll lift the rail and crank it then and se what happens

    2.7mpg, extreme poor running!!

Two ecu's with the same fault then?! I know the left bank is pulsing which is where i can petrol from the plug holes, the right hand bank i have yet to check. It can't be that the fuel isn't physically getting round to that half of the rail. Maybe the left bank is correct at spraying fuel...
