    Should be fine especially on mud terrains, they'll cope with the stones easily. I can't remember what size tyre was the best for your disco, probably best post another thread asking what size tyre is best........

    Check the stud that the tensioner goes on, its a steel stud that goes into an alloy casing, the thread quite often gets chewed up and fecked. If the stud won't tighten properly, its not the tensioner, but the stud, which is an easy and cheap repair with a m10 x 1.5mm helicoil kit ( about £20...

    Mr Noisy, picked up timing case and new fan £30. Took timing case off, after buzzing the crank bolt with the starter.Belt looked good, and sticker inside said belt was changed 2010 6000 miles ago. Took my time, slow and methodical, verging on anal, put all the bolts in separate little bags...

    Thanks James, that part seems to fit on front of pulley on Red's link, Crankshaft & Bearings ??? LandRover Discovery Series I 1989-1998, Engine The one I have was on back of pulley. Is it the same thing.

    Rubbish fuel Economy (or not)???

    I get 31mpg from my 300 tdi manual, on a run from south wales to scotland with a 5'x3' trainer behind. Usually about 27/28 for normal driving. Egr and cat less, 80/20 road tyres 32psi front 36 psi rears.

    Evenin all..... Took my crankshaft pulley off tonight to remove timing case. On back of pulley fitting very tight to the back of the pulley there is a dish/cupped ring, which is almost rusted through. What is this part called, and is it available without the pulley. Thanks

    Thank you ppeps, for you help and suggestions. I got the Timing case off tonight, seems that fan aint never gonna shift. Got a new ( 2nd hand ) one on way.
