Elp! I have searched and cant find a definitive answer... R reg 98 50th anniversary 300 tdi.

Disco had a new battery last week after old one died. Changed battery started up first time - great me thinks.

Then locked up and went inside.

Came out later, fob didn't open locks then tried to start engine nothing and immobiliser icon flashing on dash.

Changed battery in fob - nothing.

Stripped the dash to bypass the spider - I haven't got one, so ordered a replacement fob with programmer from Remotekey - still nothing.

No noise from starter or pump, just silence....

Any ideas - this is becoming a saga.....

After replacing either battery there's usually a requirement to synchronise the fob with the security ECU by pressing the lock button 4 times, does the central locking function now? If not have you checked that the ECU still has it 12v supply and the fuse hadn't blown.

Other than that I haven a clue on immobilising systems or any thing else for that matter on diesels but you could rig up a temp supply to your pump and to the inhibit relay or direct to the starter motor if it's an auto :).

Bypass it. Behind ignition thick white wire splice in to and run to fuel solenoid and try that.

Also a wire from red n white wire to starter relay in footwell and should bypass the immobiliser
