Mr Noisy, picked up timing case and new fan £30.

Took timing case off, after buzzing the crank bolt with the starter.Belt looked good, and sticker inside said belt was changed 2010 6000 miles ago.

Took my time, slow and methodical, verging on anal, put all the bolts in separate little bags all labelled up.

Got a new gasket, re fitted the case, followed by air con tensioner etc and new fan.

Did the P-Gasket and new water pump whilst all the gubbins was off. Helicoiled the tensioner stud back in and cleaned the intercooler out.

Tightened the crank bolt up ( jee that was an experience). 3' bar 5' scaffolding, missus on the brakes in diff lock and 4th.

Put it all back together, checked the torques on all the bolts.

Filled with water to flush, crossed my fingers and she started first time. :D:D:D

Getting a new serp belt today, then I'll empty water out and replace with Antifreeze.

Then off to my mates garage tomorrow to change the springs and fron shocks.

Huge thanks to everyone for the suggestions, advice and not taking the **** too much.

Lovely job Steve nice one :)

Bit unfair of whoever put the timing belt sticker INSIDE the timing cover, so you've got to take it all apart to find out it was done last week!!

Good to be back on the road anyway!

As an aside, have you considered running without a fan anyway?
