3rd Gearbox valve block replacement !!!!

Hi Guys Picking up on my thread of January 2014. Gearbox was replaced under warranty and recon unit fitted by specialist but not main dealer. Been back twice since with Trans Fail and each time I've been told valve block failure. She's back for her 3rd (presumably another block) on Monday...

Gearbox fault 04 Diesel - No warning messages?

Thanks Guys. I'll have a search around on RRnet. It's certainly re-assuring that a dash fault may not always be recorded. Perhaps I've caught mine before complete melt down. I'll advise my Specialist on Monday hoping that he'll agree to swapping the whole unit out plus Torque Converter and...

Gearbox fault 04 Diesel - No warning messages?

Good evening and Happy New Year to you all! Dispatched my (120k miler) L322 to gearbox specialist today to repair what is suspected to be traditional GM box fault(s). Have been experiencing lack of movement in "D" each morning on first start up and get going only by sliding across into manual...

Looking to replace P38 with L322

A big thanks to the above three - Bix, Saint & hippo. You've nearly succeeded in putting me off!! Budget is a BIG problem and a tough call to make but I rather fancied the newer model than a lower mileage high spec P38. Perhaps I should re-think. Anyway off on a hunt over the weekend and...

Looking to replace P38 with L322

Hi Guys. My 'tired old girl' finally bit the dust in an icy accident when the good lady was "driving". I'm now looking to upgrade to an early 02 - 04 L322. Sadly funds pressure only permits me to looking the bargain basement / high mileage bracket. Any tips on what to avoid? I'm a little...

P38 Drivetrain vibration - no prop fitted!

Thank you Gentlemen for all your advice. The prop has been split and re-assembled in the correct manner. (it only fits comfortably one way on the splines). I'm presuming that a poorly front diff is what took the uj's out in the first place. Will conduct test as soon as I can get back...

P38 Drivetrain vibration - no prop fitted!

What started out a couple of weeks ago as a gentle vibration / shudder at around 30mph has got the beating of me. Symptoms have gradually got worse which prompted 'pit inspection' yesterday afternoon. Good news is we found 2 x badly worn/seized uj's on the front prop. Having replaced both...

    Complete Electrical failure

Hi guys. Thanks for all the tips, it turned out to be a coroded / loose battery terminal:rolleyes: However a knock on fault is that the old dear won't lock remotely (via the key fob). I can lock via the key in the door and everything else seems to function ok. Have followed the handset...

    Complete Electrical failure

Seemd a bit strange that all fuses would go, where's the "fusable link" located?

    Complete Electrical failure

Went to start my P38 last night, turned key, all usual lights came on, waited for glow plugs to go out, turned key................... and everything, I mean everything went dead. No intruments, no interior lights, no an ounce of juice anywhere. Any ideas before I call in the expensive...

    Hevac triangle

Yes it is a P38, and I should have put that it's the handbook signal and not a triangle!! Everything else seems to work fine, I can direct hot and cold to where I want it, A/C output temperature does not feel as cold as it could be, but otherwise everything ok.

    Hevac triangle

Hi Guys The warning triangle has popped on without warning accompanied by a blower motor that won't seem to shut off. The motor seems loudest behind the intrument panel Drivers side. Any Clues before I give my main dealer a fist full?

    Electric window problems

Still haven't had chance to look yet but I have got it to move intermittently. More motor than regulator I think. May be even wiring or connections. Will let you know.

    Electric window problems

Hi Guys. O/s front window on my P38 won't close and displays message that it's "not set". All the others work fine. Where should I start ? Wife says it went down ok but stopped halfway up and wouldn't go any further. Is it motor or the outstation ? Hi forgot to say, can't hear...

    More Air Suspension problems

Cheers Matt, I'll check the neutral bit tomorrow. Tried a download of a manual on Saturday but it didn't work so I'll search for RAVE. Cheers Ian

    More Air Suspension problems

Indeed Matt, that's where mine came from. What's the score on a "low ratio" that won't engage. Been putting up with this for nearly 12 months now. Bought a new motor and put it on the other day but still no joy. Have been underneath with an electirc meter but seems to be no power getting...

    More Air Suspension problems

Excellent Matt, thanks. Took a little longer than 30 minutes for my "first time" but got there in the end. Locking pin didn't want to come out at all and ended up being sheared off but never mind a handy bit of fencing wire came to the rescue to refit. Levelled up nicely now for a day or two...
