Went to start my P38 last night, turned key, all usual lights came on, waited for glow plugs to go out, turned key................... and everything, I mean everything went dead. No intruments, no interior lights, no an ounce of juice anywhere. Any ideas before I call in the expensive mob..............

Have you checked appropriate fuses and the fusable link?

You have checked the battery/earth connection as these often go high resistance through corrosion!

Hi guys. Thanks for all the tips, it turned out to be a coroded / loose battery terminal:rolleyes: However a knock on fault is that the old dear won't lock remotely (via the key fob). I can lock via the key in the door and everything else seems to function ok. Have followed the handset transmitter resynchronisation as "RAve" suggests to no avail.

Any further ideas short of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery..................

Coupla points: before disconnecting battery or changing batteries in key make sure you know your EKA code. Hopefully you won`t need it but Sod`s Law rules! If there`s corrosion or dirty contacts on door lock the system won`t recognise when the key turns in the lock. Door card off `n` clean it up. Hope this helps.
