Hi guys, Just thought id let you know about one of my freebie problems that has now been fixed. I had the usual clouds of smoke and lumpy running on start up and was told my many people in the trade that it would be my injectors leaking. So priced them up and nearly had it done until i spotted...

As the Td4 is a common rail system then how can you have leaking injectors? With the pressures these systems run at then surely the fuel would flood out and fill the bore. This would then make the vehicle impossible to start. The smoke on start up must be another issue or am i missing something...

I wouldnt put anything but good quality derv in and deffo not supermarket derv.

I think that maybe the booster wasnt up to the job. My battery completly died and wouldnt put lights on the dash. Tried to bump it but to no avail but a fully charged booster fired it straight away.

Thanks for that, but mine doesnt seem to have a nut at the bottom. Strange idea metal bolt in a plastic housing.

May be a stupid question but has anyone had problems getting the bolt out of the bracket that holds the battery in place? Ive just replaced my battery but had to smash the plastic bracket because the metal bolt would not come out. Any ideas? :confused:

Mine were approx 6 months old but seemed to keep the shape of the screen where they rest, so when they swept they missed loads.Must admit they were given to me so im unsure of the quality of them.

Put some new front wiper blades on. The flat blades that were on were rubbish.

Singvogel. re flat wiper blades, do you think they are any good? just dumped mine didnt think they cleaned the screen very well.

Only one place to get a vcu in my opinion and that is BELL, speak to ken.

Previous topics about the BMW cyclone filter mod have stated that it is a good thing to fit but what i dont understand is that some who have fitted it say their car is more responsive and it runs better. How can it affect performance? or is it all in the mind?:confused:

If you havent already id fit it myself mate. Get someone to lift it and you could fit it with props in about 30 min. 1 and a half hours is a bit much i think.

Ive got a 2003 td4 91000 miles with a valeo kit in that has a solid flywheel and it seems fine to me.
