    stuttering disco

If this is a TD5 I'd have a look at the injector wiring loom. This is a common issue that can give these symptoms. The seal from the camcover can leak and this sends oil down into the red plug on your ECU, which can cause all sorts of running problems. Check the red plug for oil. If its there...

    EGR removal and DECat

You would be OK with UK MOT - I think Landrover were gearing up for emissions on the US and wider EU market - but not sure about Swedish. If there are no Swedish members here thats tried it you should check with a local MOT station. It will depend upon what the regulations were in 2002 - not...

What mileage is your Disco 2 on?

127 miles on mine but its an early 2000 - so thats around 11k per year which is not too bad for a car in regular use.

Servo assist on brakes on Td5 not working

Best Check the servo unit first. This is the classic reason for having to use a lot of effort to depress the brake pedal. With the engine switched off - depress the footbrake several times to empty the vacuum. Keeping the pedal depressed start the engine. As the engine starts there should be a...

Servo assist on brakes on Td5 not working

OK - if you've not been playing with the brake pads then the likely is a disconnected or damaged brake servo vacuum hose. Otherwise the wrk you've done may be coincidental to another problem such as: Faulty Vacuum servo unit faulty brake vacuum pump primary or secondary hydrolic brake system...

    Noisy steering

I'm just guessing here - could it possibly be wear or damage in the steering box itself thats just coincidentally manifesting now?

    10w40 engine oil

It is wierd - same companies having different promo's. My insurance company qouted me over £500 but the same company gave me an on-line quote on Moneysupermarket for the same policy for £350. I phoned the company up and once I'd given them the web reference they gave me the lower price - said...

    oil leak has gone ?????

I had a weird one last year with a hairline crack in the power steering pump that leaked when stopped but didnt when the engine was running. If its not the above then you need to get underneath when you've taken it for a run. Hope this helps

    Bleedin' brakes

I'll just mention that I understand Land Rover recommend that the system be bled using their Testbook equipment - though I've not experienced any difficulty using the standard 2 person method.

    BFG MTs Vs BFG ATs

To clarify - I've found that in green lanes in the leicestershire area that you can find your self in mud quite quickly. You 100% right that you shouldnt purposefully drive a lane that you are likely to get stuck in. But can any one tell me that they've never been stuck in one? My point was...

    engine wont stop???

Depends what you mean by `wont stop'. On some cars if its going into a spluttering tickover then it could be down to a carbon build up in the cylinder head that becomes red hot and keeps igniting the fuel - so sucking more in. Would this apply to a disco ste up - not sure.

    BFG MTs Vs BFG ATs

I've a slightly different take on this - and its that Im trying to set the car up to cope with the worse that I'm likely to encounter on the basis that it may be noisier or less efficient on the road but if it saves me half a day's digging in the mud then I'd personally go for MTs rather than...

    Why do a 2" lift ?

I'm fitting 265/75/16's to my 2000 td5 which will give me over an inch extra clearance without lifting the suspension. The main reason for lifting (which doesnt lift the diff and so increase clearance) is to fit bigger tyres/wheels. Going much bigger than 265/75/16 will probably require changes...
