    Td5 fears

Nice contradiction then: Performance filter doesn't filter as much, but get's clogged up faster. I don't really get the combination. Regards, Koen

Had a free morning, and played with an Angle Grinder

There are 3 types: 55w claiming more light --> have tried them more then ones (different types), but don't seem to do that much difference. 100w --> haven't tried them yet. Maybe those are the ones to go for. Real Xenon replacement/aftermarket --> wiring/fitment is a bit more complex, not just...

Had a free morning, and played with an Angle Grinder

Sorry to change the subject a little bit. But does anybody know if the H4 led-light (like from the same supplier as these LED-strips) are any good? Do they give as much light as a normal H4? Thanks, Koen

    Oil where the headlight lives???

Do you still have your EGR? Because that could easily be the cause. Koen

    tow-bal hight

Hey, I've dropped by the guy who installed the towbar. And Bosal don't have this drop down plate. Meaning I would need to buy a complete new towbar (and even so, he doesn't sell anything other that bosal). I would believe this is not an item that would be pricey at a breakers, would it...

    tow-bal hight

Yes off course, air suspension was what I ment. I've added a picture of mine. Ground to center is 53cm Ground to top bumper is 70cm (so center to top of bumper is 17). That would mean my bumper is 3cm more up to Dave's measurements (might be the ground was not 100% level on my measurements) So...

    tow-bal hight

Hello, Last weekend I towed a 2 axle-trailor. Only one axle touched when the trailor was empty. When loaded, the other one touched too. But I suppose the weight was not distributed over the 2 axles. After some searching, the towbal should be at a hight of 360-420mm. My is higher. Question...

Decat downpipe and centre silencer section

Hello, Decat is cheap. Removing it is easy (acces to the bolts on the turbo can be fiddly) The crossmembers ar held in place by 2x 4bolts (each)... can't get easier then to undo those. If your disco is rusty, may want to use some WD40. Regards, Koen

    Fault code reader

Let us know what it is like. I'm also wondering if I should or shouldn't wait for the nanocom2 (even if it is to still buy the hawkeye  ) Koen

    Plastic Wheel Arch Mouldings

@Disco MoneypitI only found them at 150£....did you find them cheaper? @WolfyDave wouldn't that be a perfect subject for a landyzone manual? :D @smarty1972 I tried that, but I was worried about the normal paint. I didn't want to overcook that.

    Plastic Wheel Arch Mouldings

Do you paint them? like the paint from the car itself? or just some paint on top to give it the standard finish? I've been woundering if it would be possible to paint them. But if I'm not mistaken, they are glued to the body, not? Don't know if it's easy to refit them properly. Regards, Koen

Warning to all td5 auto owners !!!!!!!!!

what's different when changing the tubes? I mean, if you replace them with genuine ones, isn't the problem the same? Thanks, Koen

Torque Converter Slip on '04 TD5 Auto

Sure do let me know. But everybody speaks about 30 mpg (and more) I only get 23-25 mpg, without towing anything, with deCAT, deEGR and K&N. The autobox is never in sport-mode, I rairly floor it (only for kick-down, 2 secs). But yes, I do short trips, and stop-start on B-roads and intersections...

    getting sump off

It's not at all PAS or box-cooler pipes. It's a solid metal 1"-1,5" tube. In the front it connects to a up-side-down Y joint. Still I was able to check the oil-drive-spocket-bolt, which was ok. Just hope the sump isn't going to leak as I didn't change the seal (because I couldn't get the sump...

Torque Converter Slip on '04 TD5 Auto

30 mpg towing a boat?? I hardly get that when doing constant 110km/u (65-70 miles/h) I don't know why I don't get the same amount of mpg as some on here. ...maybe my foot. But when setting off, you have to put it at about 2500 revs, otherwise it doesn't go anywhere, not? Regards, Koen

off course I did see your instructions, and did use I :D:D

    getting sump off

I did take the front crossmemeber off. Jacking it up may have cleared the axle. As I was using my father-in-laws pit, I could do that at that moment. What about the front corner? I tried removing 2 bolt to move the tube (+/- 1" tube, seemed coolant - also visible on your pictures :D) Koen
