Hi all

Still looking to get a code reader and I did read something about the new nanocom 2 coming out in April / May .... so where is it....lol:doh:

Seen the Hawkeye unit being sold...but I heard that Nanocom is better.. any ideas

I'm still after a full code and system reader for my v8......can get 1 that does engine and transmission for 50 quid but would really like 1 that does SLS and ABS and the rest lol

I've just ordered HAWKEye V4 as I got tired of waiting for the new Nanocom.

V4 does TD5 and V8, autobox, air suspension abs etc etc.

Have a look here and download the User Manual, that'll give you the full picture.

I boutgh mine for £257.

I particularly like the fact that all LR products are loaded, so if/when I buy a different car, DIII for instance, I can buy an unlock code and then the same bit of kit will do my current car and any future purchases.

HAWKEye arrives early next week, fingers tapping noise.........................

Cheers
Dave

Let us know what it is like.
I'm also wondering if I should or shouldn't wait for the nanocom2 (even if it is to still buy the hawkeye  )

Hi Koen, mine arrived today but I was out all day in the Monts de Guéret so first opportunity to 'play' with HAWKEye will be tomorrow afternoon.

Will report my finding then.

Hi Dave.....Will ya let me know what hawkeye v4 is like mate, as the shop i bought my memoscan from will take it back and refund me the full amount paid, when i explained about the v4 covers litterally everything and their machine only covered engine and trans.

Cheers

Dave

The hawkeye unlocked for Disco 2 can be used on every Td5 and petrol Disco 2's aswell without other fees......and so on for each type with the proper unlock code....i.e if u have one unlocked for Range Rover it'll cover all models.........it's not a simple "code reader", it's way smarter than one....and more expensive too:rolleyes:.......but I think biglad have already explained that:D

Pending Faults, as I understand them.

A fault light may not necessarily come on during the first or non severe fault it receives. The fault light computer trigger may be that if the computer sees 5 faults it will then illuminate the fault light.

What a fault code reader with pending can do is to let you know how many times a pending fault has been registered before the computer switches the fault light on. Its a way of being able to be warned that a fault warning is due.

I have only ever found these on the very expensive Fault Code readers.

Just wondered if anyone has come across a Fault Code reader with pending faults with a more sensibly priced version.

Matt

Not sure if this is what you mean but the hawkeye will read a faults history so if the faut has be recorded and then fixed the hawkeye logs it as "historical"
if its a current fault cleared but not fixed it logs it as a fault but not a historical one:confused:.

You need to bear in mind I am just learning my way around the hawkeye so I may have that completely wrong:eek:
