    Hello, After about 5000km with a swaped engine (from a bmw 525tds), trouble free, my rangie show me it wasnt that ease.. (Kept all the "old" other parts: fuel injection pump, alternator, starter motor, turbo, flywheel, injectors...) Idle, the revs are around 2000, 2300rpm...the rev gauge...

    P38 - Crack in the cylinder head vs crack in the block

    Hello, In a P38 2.5DSE, the cylinder head can crack easely, but the ods are the same to find a crack in the block? Is not as usual as a crack in the cylinder head, is it? I changed the rad (new), the thermo (new), the water pump (new), all the hoses, a new head gasket, fitted a AMC head...

    Hi, A 05/1998 2.5DSE (manual, non EGR) engine can be swaped for an earlier one? My range has the metallic air intake manifold and i wonder if i can fit an engine with the plastic manifold (disabling the EGR, as mine is pre-EGR) Will i have to change the ECU also? And what about the BECM? All...

    P38 Diesel - Hot start issue

    Hi, Found this thread (Replacing fuel temp sensor, tutorial - TDIClub Forums) in other forum. Can this be a solution for our injection pumps - hot starting issues? Has anyone tried this before? Messing with the injection pump seems to be a little bit trickier... Regards Joao
