P38. Prop snapped, auto selector out of sync.

Hi, looking for a bit of assistance here if possible. I was driving on the motorway when I first felt some serious vibrations and then a bang as the front prop snapped, hit the road and snapped off completely. I got the car off the road to have a quick look and saw there were no leaks or other...

BMW 2.5d engine into 90 defender

I remember seeing a South African Defender with the BMW straight six on the front of one of the mags, LRO I think. I'm sure it was a Defender special with about a dozen variants in a quarry on the front cover. Found this though: Powerhaus

    Im a newbie with a problem P38!

I have a P38 diesel/auto that's been chipped. It's done over 150k, 25k of them by me. It's got the stuck heater mixer problem but apart from that is generally a great car to drive. Not the fastest but fast enough, great at distances and leisurely around town. I'd say it's far from the ****tiest...

    Hi from Glasgow'ish....

Aye, it's a small world with VW's, spend a few years in it and everybody knows somebody that knows the other guy. I don't suppose it'll be much different with Land Rovers, it's as big a scene if not bigger.

Hello mate, I'm also a noob around these parts. I love your dog, I've always wanted one but my daughter fancied a border terrier so we got that instead. All the best, John.

    Best diesel for a 110

Sorry to hear about your incompatability with your wife, life's a bitch sometimes. Having read through the links Beneagles provided I think I'd tend to agree that the 200tdi might be the best, and easiest option. I did fancy a straight six though but I want to drive this soon, instead of landing...

    Best diesel for a 110

Got a link to that? You know when I said I try anything, well what your suggesting sounds like when you've talked your wife into anal sex and she then turns round and says "your turn now". Cheers anyway.

    Hi from Glasgow'ish....

Is that Solway Beetles? I dropped some stuff of to a guy who lives along the road from that boy a few years back. He had a burgundy camper in his drive that he was planning on getting on the road. It looked like it needed a load of work doing.

    Hi from Glasgow'ish....

No mate, never owned a Beetle - yet! I've had a few splitscreen vans, a couple of later campers, crew cab, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 Notchback, etc, etc..... The Big P, I'll have a look for that.

    Best diesel for a 110

Hi, I'm a newbie on here but don't want to be asking the obvious/ridiculous/usual uninformed question you've all heard a million times but no matter how hard I've looked on here I'm still in the dark. Anyways, Ive bought an early petrol 110 and want to do a diesel conversion and want to know...

    Hi from Glasgow'ish....

Cheers chaps for the welcome, and I'm well used to forum banter Buster. I've a few years in on a VW forum and I expect this place to be similar. So who left then, and why?

    Hi from Glasgow'ish....

Hello, I'm a P38 owner and picking up an early 110 next week as a project. I've been into cars and restoration as a hobby since I trained as a VM in the REME a few years ago. It seems only right to be getting around to a Land Rover now. I've gone through a few years on Mini's and then onto VW's...
