Hi All Im currently a 03 Plate discovery 2 driver and due to changes in the family vehicles the discos got to go ( to big for thw wife to drive ) so its being traded in for a school run about.. Now im looking or thinking about getting a series 3 as a run about for me self... so whats the MPG...

Have you tried clambering over the back seats and trying the inner door handle... if it opens then it could be the locks FUBAR... once open try the WD40 thing but if the locks gone south, £65 from fleebay and a couple of quid for the door car clips... 1 hour and job fixed

Stu Just slap some rust protection and some hammerite on it and see what happens.. you'll be sound :D

number 2 - id check your westgate turbo arm is set correctly and is your discovery decat and ERG blanked ??????

After making afew cost enquires with regards to having the trusted TD5 booked in for a major service.. I must say that Im shocked at some of the prices the specialists came up with... hence Im sticking to the one Ive got her booked into It seems the average price for a major service is from...

Funny that cos im Nottingham born and bread... so what garage is that and is that for an annual service or major service with all fluids changed, transfer & Auto box, brake fluid, etc etc ?

Local 4x4 specialist to my location... thats where its booked in and they got a very good rap regards repairs.... from ppl Ive spoken with Main line dealers are a joke... lol lol lol lol not at there prices and some local garages...hummmmmmm not sure they'd do a very complete job and miss...

Lyndon.. Im open to offers from anyone in Surrey or Hampshire....at the moment shes booked into a local specialist .... yeh it does seem steep when you concider that a service kits on flea bay at £20 and FPR at £120, but im stuck with this one...coz of back injury URBAN PANZER -- WHERE ARE...

I hear ya M6SJG... but there is no way I can do the major servicing with a crush lower spinal disc and a secondary slipped disc mate....if only I could...and cos I cant its got to go to a LR specialist

Off we went to the ya olde MOT station and after 50mins of worry and stress, shes got the all clear with no advisorys.....:D dam not bad to say the Fuel pressure regulator is FUBAR Thats one weight off me mind, so next is to get her booked in for a service and the fuel pressure regulator...

Guys Whilst I must admit that my Discovery 2 is just over one years ownership in and all that time shes only been washed less that 6 times... seems to be the norm to have all the sides caked in mug and ****e... but my paint work isnt that bad when shes clean... one or two scuff that I can deal...

of course sorry its is a TD5
