Having had experience of the fuel pressure regulator on a TD5 they are a horrible job.
The unit is circa £110 and the land Rover workshops give 2 1/2 hours to do the job.

Which for three bolts and three hoses kinda shows how tight the workspace is.

Fuel economy wil be poor if the fuel is leaking from the FPR. As it says on the tin with the words Fuel and (under) Pressure.

So as with most TD5's EGR removal is only the beginning. De cat pipe and good engine tune.

I know people locally here (Nottingham) who have an annual service on a D2 done for under £400. They've wanted the stamp in the service book - which can be useful on resale. £700 is excessive

Funny that cos im Nottingham born and bread... so what garage is that and is that for an annual service or major service with all fluids changed, transfer & Auto box, brake fluid, etc etc ?

Its Bramcote Hills Garage on Derby Road. That would be around the cost for what they call an `Annual Service', which is engine oil change, all filters changed, all other lube's checked and topped up (not replaced), greasing all the moving bits (inc propshaft, doors, sunroofs) etc. and inc parts and labour. They are fine for servicing, but I wouldnt personally use them for repairs as they tend to subcontract to other garages... If I had a repair I couldnt handle as a DIY I'd use www.slatersgarage.co.uk They are out at Stanton on the Wold but imo they do a good job at a reasonable price.

Hope this helps

My local LR dealer wants £235.00 plus vat to replace my FPR which is about the same as my usual garage so i am using main dealer as I assume they do these all the time and know exactl how to do em.

Common fault on a TD5. Job is easy enough just a ball ache to do as it is so difficult to get at.

That's not a bad price when you consider most hourly main dealer rates these days are close to £100 per hour.
