Off we went to the ya olde MOT station and after 50mins of worry and stress, shes got the all clear with no advisorys.....:D dam not bad to say the Fuel pressure regulator is FUBAR

Thats one weight off me mind, so next is to get her booked in for a service and the fuel pressure regulator repaired, Phoned the garage and was asked for an idea of cost, thats one became the stumbling block as I dont know which service the truck needs.... shes only done 2500 I bought her and since the last recorderd service and I reckon that it was only a minor one if that

So out came the service book and called the LR dealer in brimingham to find what I had suspected.. that the one at 41000 was only a minor as well.. so ma truck has covered about 17000 miles on nothing more than basic services..ie oil and filter change... so looks like I need a major major service....

So how much are you all paying for this, just so that I can compare the prices... Ive been quoted just under 700 for major service and FPR done

Was planning on doing it me self but Ive screwed my backup and I cant do with the pain of bending and all that at the moment:confused: just wondering what else there gonna find...

Something that goes concern me is that Im really getting ****ey gas mileage for a TD5 thats been EGR blanked and all that..????? maybe just needs the above

£200 for complete oil filter change, engine axles ,g/box and t/box etc,£150 fpr change i would change all oils in above annually

I think the answer is that most of us on here are probably doing the servicing ourselves - ensuring the job gets done properly, saving on the labour costs and improving on the quality of oil and parts used...

I hear ya M6SJG... but there is no way I can do the major servicing with a crush lower spinal disc and a secondary slipped disc mate....if only I could...and cos I cant its got to go to a LR specialist

I bet there is someone on here who will be a close drive from you and will do it for less than 700! that is an awfull lot of beer tokens! ;)

Lyndon.. Im open to offers from anyone in Surrey or Hampshire....at the moment shes booked into a local specialist .... yeh it does seem steep when you concider that a service kits on flea bay at £20 and FPR at £120, but im stuck with this one...coz of back injury

URBAN PANZER -- WHERE ARE YOU MATE..... YOU FREE ANYTIME SOON...LOL

Local 4x4 specialist to my location... thats where its booked in and they got a very good rap regards repairs.... from ppl Ive spoken with

Mailed gumtree4x4 for a cost for service and FPR so that I can compare costs

I know people locally here (Nottingham) who have an annual service on a D2 done for under £400. They've wanted the stamp in the service book - which can be useful on resale. £700 is excessive
