My TD5 Disco has just done 130k miles and I'm thinking of having an auto gearbox oil and filter change.
My mates really doing it and I'm just assisting, but I'm getting the parts and oil together for the end of the month.
I've done searches and some are really confusing about what oil to use...
After air suspension and rear brake calipers last month, there's nothing planned for this month (so far).
Just got to get the bits for the oil change/service at the end of May.
hurray.
The locking nuts are shagged on my 2000 TD5.
I had to replace the nut remover tool as it'd started to split, with a new one and thats a sloppy fit. Just don't fancy messing about with them if I have to put the spare on, with my luck it'd be at night and in the rain.
The alloys are 10 year old...
Got it looked at by a local locksmith who gave it a good cleanout. It's all ok now, the tumblers rotating and its now fitted back on the disco.
Cost £10, I'm mega chuffed, had nightmares of new lock, keys and £200 bill.
I'm a happy chappy now.
My ignition lock has broke on my D2 TD5, removed the whole ignition/steering lock assembly and running disco with chip and screwdriver. The key slides in/out ok, but wont rotate.
To replace is very costly and I'd still like to keep the one key also.
Do's anyone know of a good auto locksmith...
Are the rear brake calipers on a disco td5 really left and right biased?
The nearside rear is binding again, sorted it out twice before recently, I might just replace it this time.
Had new pads and discs all round 6000 miles ago.
Island4x4 seem to be the best priced at £38 on the bay.
Thanks...
They've got some in the Lynn branch. They are a good price.
She did say 50quid, so might get some 3t axle stands as well. :D
thanks for all the inputs.
Paul
The mrs has a dodgey left ear and the noise from the wind passing the passenger window gives her an headache on a long run, so I'm thinking of fitting wind deflectors to my Td5.
Which ones should I go for, the internal channel fitting or the external stick on?
Thankyou,
Paul
