I want to sound deaden/ insulate my series land rover doors, under bonnet, gearbox tunnel, etc, etc. What type is best? Woven fibres, rubberised foam, rubber matting, other? Want to significantly reduce noise and dont want something that holds the water. Cheers.

Its just about the same size as the original series diesel engine apart from the timing housing at the front.

Is it a 200tdi your fitting? You can use the 2.5 bell housing with a series 3 clutch if so. You need to counterbore 4 lower holes to accept new bolts through the bell housing to the engine block. All is explaned on the "200Di" diesel conversion for Series Land Rovers - by Glencoyne 4x4...

Have you got the feed and return the wrong way round? Embarrasing to admit, but when I did my conversion I had these round the wrong way. The engine fired up and idled reved up but was starved of fuel!!! Just a thought:confused:

OK, another question. Use the oil bath filter or the discovery one?..pro's and con's please.

I've kept the original 200 tdi manifold, made a flange to mate up with it and custom welded exhaust to marry up with the orignal exhaust halfway down the down pipe.

I've gone for the DI installation. I'm not looking looking for great acceleration and speed, just want to maintain speed up hills and with head winds! Also, the engine and drives should last longer (or so I hear). Thanks for your input though :)

Where are you located? I could do with the rear cross member up and including the rear spring hangars. Also got some rot under the hole of the mid crossmember coming through. Ta.

Thanks for the responses. Still none the wiser with seat belts for inward facing seats! If I fit forward facing seats, I'll take the seating capacity down to 5. I'd like to retain the 7 seats if possible. At a minimum, I need 6 seats. Has anyone fitted a rear facing bench seat (3 seats)...

I've ran my 2.25 diesel on 80% used veg cold filtered to 1 micron and 20% diesel since November 13. Probably done 1500 miles.........all good so far. I also used to run a Disco 2 on 80% Biodiesel and 20% diesel. No harm to either vehicles. Perhaps I've just been lucky!

I have an 882 with bench seats in the back and no seat belts. I want to make travelling in the seats a bit safer. What seat belts are best? Can I install 3 point harnesses, or even the ralley type 4/5 point harnesses and where/how should they be mounted? Thanks for any advice.
