I think most of its going to come down to the interpretation of the MOT tester on the day. How does he know what was fitted to every vehicle as standerd, especially as some models had cats and some don't.

The trans box is interchangeable, it's the gear box that has the leavers attched to it

Might pay to whip out the drive shafts as they should be one piece items, undo out Bolts and slide out, if both shafts are intact then you know its the diff, of not you will have found the broken shaft already through looking

There some hard to get nooks Above the axle on the inside of the chassis and a rear body out rigger that has one side of it completely missing, do you have any suggestions for good tools that you can use to prepare hard to get to places for welding ie can't get a grinder in to?

It does have ace, but the pipes arnt as bad as the outrigger, are the outriggers the same as disco 1s? Thought about cutting off a d1 one and grafting it on

My first exhaust was the one that id been using on the tdi, but it was deafening in the cab, i now have a middle box and a back box that just about does it with keeping a nice note.

Hi Dave, just done the very same thing myself, you need, PRC9555 SPEEDO CABLE UPPER LHD NAS DEF 110 (G), attaches to the transducer that is on the short cable from the trans box. Cheers Gareth
