    Disco 2 Starting issue

Hello all, I have come over to the world of disco from the land of defender. Just bought a 1999 disco 2 after selling my beloved defender after 12 good years of owning it. So after 3 weeks of owning it it has started to go wrong, so at least it’s a proper Land Rover. Every now and again it will...

    Temp guage and heating wierdness

Hello, I have recently had a new 300tdi engine from a disco, fitted to my defender, after it seized. Since then, I have had problems with heat. My temperature gauge barely moves past the white line, even after an hours run, and the heater only blows cold/luke warm air. Any ideas? Cheers

    Defender locks

Hello, About to replace my locks for the 5th time after key snapper yet again. Anyone know if there's a set of replacement lock barrels that are NOT made of butter? Standard locks are pony and can be opened with a 2 pence piece. Why are these vehicles built using such complete sh*t for parts...

    V8 or 300TDI

I have noticed my 300TDI is gutless up hills (bad when you live in the mountains) and lacks power for acceleration. Do I go for a tune up, new turbo, new intercooler etc on my existing, low milage good condition 300tdi; or do I go for a V8 conversion? What are the pro's and cons?

    Water leaking in.....again

I have spent a lot of time sealing all the water leaks to stop the rain coming in, so much so I have to have the windows open through fear of suffocation. Its near air tight. This was all fine and dandy for about 6 months but now I have a new leak. I have spend days spraying a jet washer over...

    Fuel system clean out

Bonjour My Defender is really starting to smoke bad now so I was thinking to clean it out a bit. i tried reddex but it didn't really do much. I think the problem is a mixture of the landy sitting for 4 months + being run in the red a lot. I will replace the fuel filter and the air filter for...

What have I gotten meself into?

A while ago I was considering getting a series IIa as a restoration project. It would be my first (appart from a mini I helped my Dad with donkies years ago) and so I am now thinking this will be more than I bargained for. I have not yet parted with cash for it and so can still back out...

    crunch time

    No more water!!!

It is done! Big thanks to Bustersbus and everyone else. I took the whole dash out and found the biggest culprit for leaks. it was the front vents. I sealed the buggers shut and now, hopefully, it should be the end of my troubles. Cheers all!
