hi, just thought i would jump in. i am thinking of doing the same conversion, i am assuming the defender you are going to use has a tdi engine fitted. I allready have a td5 disco. How do you intend to sort the ecu, wiring.etc?? mark

Hi all, Having had to change the instrument panel on my 2002 preface lift disco td5. I now have the problem that the mileage is flashing wrong. How can i reset it to read correct?

Sorted at last, the fuel guage had shorted out and melted some wires in the instrument dash part.

All sorted, there was a short across the fuel guage in the dash somewhere that had caused wires to melt.

I will keep you updated once i have the part delivered.. If this dont work then may be i will break it up for parts!!!

Thanks for that, looks like its the instrument clocks in the dash causing the problem after 5 weeks in the garage and with access to caffyns Landrover diagnostic. Thanks for your replies..

My landie has allready been on test book and no fault was found,typically it did not play up when it was being tested.Thanks for your advise..

I have a 300tdi auto R reg, the engine revs itself up when i come to a stop and the check engine warning light comes on,if i gently touch the accelerator pedal the engine will go back to tick over and the light goes out if i let go of the pedal it revs up again and the light comes back on...

The rear windows only seem to work when they like on my r reg 300tdi, ive tried swapping the switches and by passing the centre swith that stops the main door swithes from working ,still they stay shut in this heat it is not funny any ideas please ..

The engine has done 105000 with full service history .I have had new filters and cam belt replaced,also fitted new glow plugs ,i have noticed white smoke now,im not sure that she is mis firing ,she just seems to turn over about a dozen times before she picks up and runs. Thanks for your help.
