check the gearbox oil level had the same problem last weekend oil level low topped up and lights lights have stayed off

Done my mates a month or so back. Didn't know it was a different size nut at the top,no wonder we couldn't get it off ended up doing it in situ a bit fiddly but a good job done

I had the same problem on a range rover classic I owned and change the steering damper no more probs

Td5 starters have prolems with the solenoid. Can you here clicking when you when you turn the key.

There is an 'allen key' slot in the end of the thread of the ball joint to stop it turning

I believe there is only one 'o' ring on the gearbox filter when I changed mine if my memory serves me right
