Starting Issues

Anyone help me out over the last week sometimes jump in the disco turn the key and get nothing but all the lights on the dash etc come on no problem keeping trying then all of a sudden it turns over and starts no problem.
Just asking if it’s a common problem I have a feeling it could be the starter motor and do they have a solenoid fitted ?

More likely the ignition switch .. they make a habit of feckin' up.

Could also be a bad earth/connection.

Td5 starters have prolems with the solenoid. Can you here clicking when you when you turn the key.

I had this on my 200 turned out to be ignition switch was falling to bits (wires+ plastic coming off the metal part) it was also draining the battery .After I changed it all was good and my battery is now holding charge
(saves me £65 on a new battery)

Found one of the connections on the battery not tight see how that gets on
