  • hi i wonder if you can help i have a 300tdi i think ive blown my diff as when i select 4wd i can drive the car but steering is hard to turn im a bit of a first time fool when it comes to stuff like this so just humour me
its pure veg oil ( rapeseed oil ) or SVO ( straight veg oil ) im mixing around 12 litres to around 30 litres of diesel now its colder. The td5 engine super heats the fuel returning to the tank so its most suitable for running veg oil mix. It runs much quieter and smoother and get more mpg than running pure diesel. Theres a good thread in the 90/110 section " cooking oil in a td5" have a good read through it and all posts are positive and theres a bloke running his td5 90 on used engine oil mixed with petrol. Also the td5 dosnt have an injector pump as such it has a high pressure fuel pump in the tank, the injectors themselves create the huge fuel pressure which vaporises the fuel. In this cold weather dont be putting more veg oil than diesel in your tank as she might struggle to start from cold. I will smell of an old chippy but im sure you will be pleased with the result
