    sun roof

They are a bloody fiddle, but clean the groove thoroughly and start at the front and ease it in, stretching it slightly towards the corners. They will seem too small and keep popping out, but stick at it and eventually you wonder why you struggled. It can be hard to persuade the corners to sit...

    water leak

Bite the bullet and drop your headlining - it's really not hard and then you can look while someone hoses it down, or drive around for a week or two like that. Mine started leaking at 78,000, but someone had obviously had a go at fixing it before.

Disco td5 leaking sunroof surprise surprise

Having felt very smug to have checked for leak evidence when I bought mine 18 months ago, I too had the dreaded waterfall, only on the driver's side. Bit the bullet last weekend and took out all the headlining and necessary trim - surprisingly easy and took only an hour and a half. Found...

    Disco TD5 ?

Mine's a 2000 TD5 GS auto bought 15 months ago. 64,000 miles - now 75,000. Had never had an auto before this in 30 years of driving but very easy to get used to it and I can't see me going back now. Lovely cruiser on motorways and fine round town. Had the injector loom and pressure regulator...

    Fog lamps on bumper

Sorry, no photos but having spent all that time fixing the bumper, i promptly clipped another vehicle and shattered the ABS corner I had so lovingly restored. New bumper now required so will photo that when i get it!

    Fog lamps on bumper

Probably, but the front bumper as I found out last weekend is a complex mix of metal and plastic. There seems to be plenty of places you could drill though plastic and the bonded metal bit to make a solid bolted attachment, the trick being to know where. Safest to remove it and look from behind...

    TD5 tank range?

I thought I could only get about 425 from a tank (2000 TD5) but then I brimmed the tank recently and it was 110 miles before the needle even moved, and so hoping for more. Did take £104 to fill it that full, though.

    After some advice

Bought my 2000 TD5 from Gotham car sales ( so truly a Batcar). With my usual sense of timing I did it just before the 4x4 price crash but at least it sneaks under the increased tax by twelve weeks. They seemed vey helpful, service, credit check and MOT included. Later they paid for me to have...

    td5 constant misfire

Mine was misfiring, especially when cold. Irritating thing was that sometimes it ran perfectly - smooth and powerful. Did several long distance runs which helped a bit but still some days was as rough as hell. New injector loom didn't help, nor did Redex. Recently have been leaving engine to run...

    TD5 mpg

25-30mpg is more like it for me - 2000td5 auto. Better on the long journeys. Have not seen any difference with different fuel types - tends to be Sainsburys at present.

passenger side electric window not working

Mine turned out to be the switch - swapped them round to prove it and then dismantled the switch (2000TD5 auto). Little metal thing had displaced. Put it back together in right place and works fine again.

Td5 Abs,Traction control and hill descent lights on.

Maybe I'm lucky, but when the three amigos paid a visit I went to my local independent Landy dealer - Swinfield Cooper. They put it on the test and "reset" the sensors. Took all of five minutes and has been fine since.

    CD autochanger

Took advantage of the fact that they seem to be selling these off on a lot of sites for £50 to £60 provided you have the right Phillips radio cassette head unit. Approached the fitting with some trepidation, but fantastic picture instructions from Land Rover. Only points were how to get the...

What to watch out for a td5 please

Just bought one and had it checked by independent dealer - put on the diagnostic gadget and found there was a misfire when cold - new injection wiring loom needed - estimate £89 including labour. Small leaks from fuel pump and ACE pump but otherwise sound. ( 2000 GS 5 seater)
