Yes, you are all right. Just went out and hung the fob UNDER the key (I balanced it above the key before), and I could start it. But as the console is all in pieces and the key is taped into the barrel whilst the sikaflex tries to cure (you never know, it may work), I won't drive it tomorrow...

The tip of the key has snapped off in the ignition barrel. I have removed console, taken electrics of back of steering column lock and prized base of steering column lock off, so the steering wheel is free, but even with fob and broken key in barrel, turning the electrical end of ignition...

Thanks for that. In that case, would my receiver be the culprit of any battery drain? If I have no BECM, then could stray signals be waking anything up? Cheers, Jim

A search on here indicates my battery drain may be due to RF receiver picking up stray signals and waking up BECM 1996 ES Tdi disco. Where is the rf receiver, please, anyone? I can't find a wiring diagram If I disconnect it and drain stops, I know the cause. Instead of buying the £160 new...

Ok, So Paddocks sell one-shot. They sell lots of different kinds. I have ABS, So I'd buy that one, but: 1) Can I overfill the swivel housings (Do you just stop squirting when it comes out of filler hole?) 2) What difference does it make if you have ABS or not - I really don't get that one????
