When I bought my 97disco I was told he'd had the swivel housings done with the one-pack grease replacement (whatever that is)

I though I'd top it up with Hypoid like I used to on my old Series LR.

All it did was leak out over the seals onto the drive.

1) Have I done damage?
2) What should I do now (Don't want to ruin the bearings in there - done that before)
3) Should I squirt some Lithium (black) Grease in there? More Oil? Or what?
Cheers

you won't have done any harm. one-shot is just a mixture of oil and grease, but because it's thick, you can't check the level as such.
I'd just shoot half a tube of one-shot in there to be safe.
you can get it from Paddocks or most Indys.

I think that landrover decided to fill the swivels with grease insted of ep80 as some kind of modification. The seals leak in my rangerover too but only slightly so im thinking of getting some of the grease and seeing if that stays in there longer.I've seen the 1 shot swivel grease for sale in paddocks but not sure where else its avalible.

Ok, So Paddocks sell one-shot.

They sell lots of different kinds.

I have ABS, So I'd buy that one, but:

1) Can I overfill the swivel housings (Do you just stop squirting when it comes out of filler hole?)

2) What difference does it make if you have ABS or not - I really don't get that one????

If ye go for the bottle type, it might be an idea to sandpaper the nozzle and stick a pice of tubing on it, that way ye can get the grease right into the housing and not just round the filler hole

Good tip, thanks.

It's not possible to over fill these things is it?

Do you know why some is for ABS models and some isn't?

The idea of 1-shot grease is:
1. I containerful does one side;
2. Once done, it should ever need to be topped up.

2. Once done, it should ever need to be topped up.

Don't take that for granted ,for they do need topping up as you will readily find out .
