I have Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's. Find them very good both on and off road. Never once found them a problem on wet roads. Think this is just a normal Defender thing as mine has always done this. I imagine its just do with the fact that a small amount of moisture builds up behind the dash as the fresh air vents are not 100% sealed when shut and the door seals leak slightly and so on...

You only need a snorkel if your going to be going through deep water thats likely to get near or above your air intake. Mud tyres and good recovery points front and back along with good quaity rope and/or strops and some decent bow shackles are all thats really necessary for a good day out!

Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs are very good tyres.

No, its my first off road day out, and I got 2 new wrangler mud terrains and 2 new wrangler all terains, now need some wheels to fit them on, the tyres/wheels i have on It usually I need to keep.

Cheers everyone. I will have to do some tests when I get a chance...the fact she runs very happy at 60mph and will overtake at 70mph fine (just rather noisey!!) must mean there cant be very much wrong. Maybe just old age or something?

I use either Magnatec 10w/40 or Ambra Mastergold HSP Engine Oil 15w/40.

God only knows what occured! Was a turbo fault though as it would spin really fast then the power would kick in about 3 secs later. Once engine was shut off for an hour everything seemed to resolve itself....???

Just been down in it now and it all seems fine. Must of overheated the turbo...thankfully seems not to of done any lasting damage!!
