Toughened is strong, but if it does shatter, particularly at speed it can do damage to your eyes with the very small shards of glass you get amongst the cubes, hence why it's not used for windscreens in the uk any more If you can get it go for decent laminated glass

Wot Trewey said.... if you polish with rouge you can go too far,get rid of the scratch but end up with distortion that's worse than the original scratches. Tis flat glass, should be able to get a new on cut using old one as a template.
