Posting for a friend (who is not a member ) He has a 300tdi 90 and is getting vibration around 45-50mph somewhere in the driveline. only when in gear though and once above 50mph is goes away.

Some of our works 110's have had this problem (TD5 although same gearbox/Tbox) and i have been told its "the cam" in the transfer box wearing.

Anyone had this or similar? if it is that cam is it difficult to replace? or are we talking gearbox rebuild  he wont be happy if it is! I know nothing much about gearboxes so this is all new to me too.

Help as always appreciated.

When I had propshaft vibration problems, it was there between 40 and 45mph and was fine at other speeds. It was worse under load.
It wasn't worn UJs though - it was the yokes binding due to the lift.

Ok cheers Tre, im sure he said the UJ's were fine, i will have a look myself in a few hours time. no lift, just 265/75 muds (my old ones that came with my 300tdi you looked at :) )

I still get vibes between 50-60, I know me UJ's are alright.
Local Landy man had a look a while back and there was nothing visible.
At the moment I just drive round it as it's not too bad, but I am aware it will get worse if I don't find out what it is and get it sorted.
Just waiting to get some new garage doors so I can start to use me pit.
Would be interested to se what you find......

i had the same and found a dodgy joint on what i believe is called the panhard rod(connects axle to chassis), changed them and hey presto no vibration
