    Best exhaust manifold gaskets

Many thanks, I got the later gaskets and a stud kit, the chap making my stainless exhaust said the hedman's were a nightmare to fit, but it's all done now and I collect it tonight. Thanks again

    Best exhaust manifold gaskets

Folks, I'm changing my exhaust at the weekend on my factory 3.5 V8 90 and I'm going to fit a set of Hedman header branch manifolds at the same time. Ideally I want to fit and forget them, so I am looking to source the most appropriate manifold gaskets for the Hedmans, can anyone with actual...

    SU Carb...... Help !?!?!?

I had a similar problem on my 1986 90 v8 from cold start whereby the car was taking a while to start and fuel was spitting out the overflows due to carbs being flooded, when it eventually fired the leak would stop after a minute or two which I put down to residual fuel in the line, mine was due...

Sick & tired of LR bolts !!!!

Think Landy bolts are bad, after 20 years in the motor trade I've found that there's nothing worse than Jap bolts they corrode on sight, and even the ones that look okay shear, I hate them. As said, you want a set of these or similar, best money you will spend...

A dedicated 4x4 channel on CB.

The higher up the 40 channels you go the less interference you get from the likes of foreign stations bleeding through from AM or SSB, its usually particularly bad in the summer months with Russian taxi's. Ch7 is the regular 4x4 channel up here, but I generally use ch35 if I'm out with my mates...

A dedicated 4x4 channel on CB.

I was a regular on the CB many moons ago before mobile phones and the internet and it was very busy and generally good fun with lots of decent folk, i remember clearly when you would regularly struggle to find a free channel out of the 40 that wasnt in use. I also used the side bands and had a...

    Scottish Green Road Club

Hi Geoff, I know a few of your members who are also in Strathclyde 4x4 response and they speak very highly of the club. I hope to join myself when I sell my L200 and get myself a nice wee 90 , hence the reason I'm on here swatting up on Landy's before I go looking.

How often to waxoyl a Defender please?

There was a guy on the Scottish Land Rover O.C doing an under body Steam clean and waxoil for £160, so £400 seems a bit greedy

    Kwik-Fit Slap Hammer my brakes?

I think they were maybe talking about a slide hammer and not a slap hammer, ive got one with attachments for hubs etc albeit i think ive only used it once or twice as a dead blow usually suffices, glad you got it sorted, as said I wouldn't go near a fast fit place for anything other than a...

2A SWB petrol ex AA recovery truck...

1.25 tonnes was probably ample for most things when it was new as your not taking the entire weight of the vehicle as the rear wheels are still on the deck, however I still wouldn't want to risk it on something that old nowadays. Using it for company P.R is a good move though

2A SWB petrol ex AA recovery truck...

Sounds like a good project though but perhaps best restored and not worked, it would be worth more. If your going to get good money for it attention to detail is essential, and the resto done to a very high standard, at that age it will be hand painted sign writing, period tyres, getting all the...

    Newbie from Glasgow

Hi folks, I'm brand new into the world of Land Rovers, I've been into Jap 4x4's for a few years and do a bit of off roading, I've always wanted a 90 but I do a fair mileage, and wasn't prepared to sacrifice the comforts, however a forthcoming new job means that I won't need the car for the...
