You could use defender steel wheels, still only 5.5" wide but are for tubless tyres, which will give you more tyre choice.

A friend of mine once bought an old car with a bad paint job like yours, he used gaffer tape, sticking on strips of tape and ripping it off, it worked well!

I think they were tubeless from 2006 on.

Used series 3 dashboards seem to be very expensive nowdays. Is your's beyond repair?

Why not use the tub, along with the axle and springs to make a trailer to pull behind your 88"?

I have a spare transfer box from a series 3 I had a few years back. I bought a replacement gearbox which came complete with transfer box, I kept my original one as it was working fine.

Hi Sam, you could buy or make a swing away type. I have 750's on mine and as said before it does restrict your view of the nearside front wing making it hard to judge the distance to parked cars etc.

Peronal choice realy, I'm sure two seats like you have now would be more comfy, personaly I prefer the standard look. A set of standard seats would be around £120/130.

Hi, I have an 88 series 3 petrol with standard diffs and find it a bit undergeared, even with the overdrive I feel it could pull a slightly higher gear.
