    D2 tapping, crankshaft pulley?

Hi all, it's been some years since my last post here. . Primarily because my disco has been treating me well, but that all ended a few days ago in spectacular fashion . Idle pulley (one where ace pump would be of you had it) siezed and destroyed drive belt. Manage to change pulley and get new...

    Steering wheel judder when braking

Was the discs.. changed them this afternoon.. bit of WD40, and make sure you have a 19mm multi-point socket for the caliper bolts and pretty easy job. Assuming the disc retaining screw lets go, which mine did with the help of an impact driver. Thanks for all the advice.

    Spotlight wiring

Brilliant.. along those lines then, The serengeti doesn't have a heated front windscreen, meaning I have a blank in the "6 pack", Hazard warning switches are only about £7 (YUG102372) got to be latchable.. realise it won't have the "on-led", but would slide straight in?

    Spotlight wiring

Thanks for that fellas.. Was sort of what I was afraid of. ie. having to pay a main stealer to push a button on a laptop. Might look at doing it the old fashioned way, as in, run the wires myself from a switched live and fit a switch in the dash.. just a shame there isn't an oem latchable...

    Spotlight wiring

Quick question.. Bought a light bar for my pre-facelift TD5 today, Don't have any front fog lights on at the moment, but I've noticed that behind the blank switch (where the front fog light switch would be), there is a plug.. Also there are sockets around where the fog lights would be...

    Steering wheel judder when braking

Hi all, I've been experiencing a judder when braking from speed, jacked her up and found a bit of play when rocking the drivers side wheel 9 & 3 position.. could see some movement in the track rod ends. replaced the whole bar and hey presto no more play when rocking the wheel, but the judder...

    Fuel Regulator / Axle leak?

Thanks David, Have a pretty decent set of tools, including ratchet spanners.. but when I've looked at the job and the bottom bolt of the 3 securing ones looks pretty tricky to get out.. let alone refit. Had a poke with ratchet, and socket set with a knuckle joint, but i reckon I'll run out of...

    Fuel Regulator / Axle leak?

Hi All, I keep getting a little oily patch after the disco's been standing a while.. It's dripping from the bottom of the axle, and is quite dirty, don't think that's the leak though.. could this be diesel from the FPR?.. by the time it runs through the engine bay, looks more like oil...

    Extended height not working

Hi Chatty, Had the same myself, the constant chiming could indicate that the car doesn't think it's level to start with.. Had to change both sensors and have mine recalibrated .. knew something was up because measuring hub to wheel arch on both sides there was consistently a couple of cms...

In for "recalls".. now warning lights - HELP!

Fantastic... Get a call from the dealer "Intermittent fault with one of the ABS sensors".. As expected they claimed it was nothing they did, they were nowhere near those parts etc..they've replaced it and it's cost me £150, they way I see it, that's £150 paid for a lesson which I already knew...

In for "recalls".. now warning lights - HELP!

Little update for you all.. Got it back from the dealer today.. I managed to find out what recall 169 was (you can get the recalls for your car from the AAs website would you believe..), unsurprinsingly it was a recall on the ABS module, armed with that little fact, the dealer didn't suggest it...

In for "recalls".. now warning lights - HELP!

Hi all, Just visited a main dealer (needed a new key for my Disco II.. so little choice).. they wanted it for the whole day, because there were 2 outstanding recalls due.. no cost to me, so I didn't question. When I got it back, the "S" and "M" were flashing (Prob with the gearbox?), but the...

    Air Compressor / Valve block

Yeah, That's sort of where I am at the moment, certainly don't want to do anything which makes it worse.. unfortunately, even with PTFE, it won't go tight. Started it an hour or so ago, for the 1st time in a week and the compressor fired for a couple of minutes, suggesting there still is a very...
