PAS and ATF?

Hi all,

Is it correct that the Fluid for the Auto Trans on a TD5 is also used for the ACE/PAS.. Dexron III?

I have the Extreme Climate stuff in the PAS at the moment, will it mix Ok if I top up with Dexron?

i think Dexron III is being replaced by TES 389 i believe. Well at least at work we are.

No its not correct, although many use ATF in both the PAS (I do) and ACE (not yet) but if the ACE has a big leak etc then it will get re-filled with ATF.

Mixing oils is not always a good idea, you could simply drain the reservoir, fill with ATF and run it for a while, then drain and refill again to get probably 99% of the fluid changed.
