Hi guys im scrapping my lifted 300tdi,,replacing with 2001 pre face lift td5,,,,,,,,,,, it has i believe the cdl box, my plan was to remove the linkage from the tdi,,,but then sudden thought the 300 is a manual the td5 an automatic,,,would it work some how? And now the usaul tyre question...

alt may have to go as you say,,,but been reading about the dash warning light circuit which may have some thing to do with it?

yes run a con check from the battery pos to the stud on the alternator and nothing,,,with both regulator packs,,,there is a connection between the battery pos and the starter motor

What could cause the regulators to blow? if indeed that is the problem,,or what else could stop the charging process? I dont want to get another alternator only to find the same problem if that makes any sense

yes door locks and unlocks ok with the key, just wondered about the double beep thats started at the same time as the door lock attenuator not working may be linked :)
