Hi guys im scrapping my lifted 300tdi,,replacing with 2001 pre face lift td5,,,,,,,,,,, it has i believe the cdl box, my plan was to remove the linkage from the tdi,,,but then sudden thought the 300 is a manual the td5 an automatic,,,would it work some how?
And now the usaul tyre question everyone gets sick of seeing,,i cant see any point lifting the td5 soooo,,lets say what are the biggest diameter tyrs that could be fitted on 16's as it is stock,,,and largest with a little bumper and body trimming,,,,,,,,,,as ever a few hours searching reveals several different answers,,im not talking silly 33" etc maybe up to 30.5",,,not sure as i say ,,stock are 29 i believe ,,,anyway sorry to be the wheel guy lol
 
265 70 16s will fit and give you 30.6 inches but I believe they may hinder you towing and on hills with a standard td5 auto!
 
cheers mate will try and find some thing,,,as i say im sure i read that it has to be an auto to fit an auto sadly

there is a bracket for d1 autos that lever assembly bolts to it will fit d2 too but not sure if the change lever is in the way a proper d2 cable assembly would be best
