Kaiser, have you tried all this just in one location? There could be some strong interference there...

Reprogramming BECM to ECU with HAWKEYE

Sorry to intrude, but I'm just ordering a Nanocom Evo. Can someone please clarify, if I can disable my feckin alarm and immobiliser with it? My BeCM is locked. Thanks.

    Praying P38

Interesting indeed. On mine the back drops and the front stays up, but then sometimes the car just goes to the bump stops when parked overnight. I suspect one of the rear sensors, as the car hunts for a correct ride height when in highway mode. Could it be related? Does the car actually level...

    transferbox motor testing

Yes, it can. Mind that it only rotates to a certain point in either direction. The two big terminals in the connector are the motor terminals, other are for position sensors.

    Original wheel brace

Yep, original one is a joke. No way one could undo the nuts with it. I always carry full toolbox and a 0.6m breaker bar. You never know :)

    Fuel Filter replacement

Softop, you could have a worn out in-tank pump. Mine primed the system in well under a mintute with an empty fuel filter. You just need to undo the banjo on the FIP a bit until it primes..

Clutch soft after me being an idiot

Thanks guys, that really was easy. Bleeding the clutch took 5 minutes, easiest bleeding of my life. And it cured the problem, better still, the clutch pedal has far more feel to it than before.

    Fuel Filter replacement

It is really simple. Put a container under the old filter (a cut off 1,5 L bottle will do), unscrew the old filter. Put some diesel on the rubber gasket on the upper part of the new filter, screw it only hand tight. Undo the bolt (either straight or banjo) where the pipe from the fuel filter...

    p38 2.5 diesel economy? lol

Roddy, the engine is the only thing that works as it should on mine ;) But still, there aren't that many around here, i've only heard two. Another thing that bothers me is the problem for the engine that shutting down one of the cylinders would do. The inline 6 is firing three cylinders per...

Clutch soft after me being an idiot

Never mind. I don't know if it was just the odd hour of the day, the clutch is still soft as a limp weenie. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.

    p38 2.5 diesel economy? lol

Nah, mine works on all 6 all the time... :) My old man has the Lancia Lybra with a 5 cylinder 2.4 JTD engine, now that really sounds like something is horribly wrong with it... But it's not. The TDS is a happy kitten compared to that :)

    brake pump

The only black relay in the fuse box. You can try and open the relay housing, little flat screwdriver helps a lot. Inside there is a coil and two contacts, probably one of them is fused together. You can free it (or even remove one of the contacts) to buy some time, but only real solution is a...

Clutch soft after me being an idiot

Thanks jamesmartin, i'll do that certainly as i don't know when was the last time the hydraulic fluid was bled anyway. In the mean time, i had to drive my G/F to the train station this morning, and the car would not go into reverse or 1st gear, as the clutch was not releasing entirely. However...

Clutch soft after me being an idiot

Hi, well, to make a long story short, clutch worked problem free until now. Two hours ago i was poking around the car and found out the rubber boot on the clutch slave cylinder was totally perished. Since it was the first time i ever saw the thing i played a bit, pushed the rod cca 1cm into...

P38 retro fit traction control ?

Saint, i did also think so, when i bought it :) then, the bitter disappointment. Still, i haven't yet been in a situation where i'd need it, the wheels just don't want to slip no matter what i do. Sticky winter tires probably help :) I guess it's just one less thing to go wrong with the car...

P38 retro fit traction control ?

Not all P38a's have TC. Mine (1995 basic spec DT) sure doesn't have it, and it also doesn't have the TC lamp. BUT, if it has the TC lamp, it should also have the TC.

failed suspension ( is it drivable)

It can be driven. It's not really comfy, but should get you home. I'd first check, if the bump stops look ok (and are present, of course), and then take it easy. Rougher the road, rougher the ride.

    Odd steering behaviour

Well, yes, the car is rumbling when driving (gets pretty shaky at about 100 kph). Any idea how to check which CVJ is gone, apart from taking them off the car. I already did one front wheel bearing and the major pain is getting the wheel hub off the car.

    Odd steering behaviour

When i turn the steering wheel when reversing slowly out of the drive, the steering wheel only goes to a certain point. Then, after reversing a little more, the steering wheel allows for few degrees more of turning. The steering arm to wheel ball-joints have been replaced. Tires are getting...
